| The Sunbeam Alpine is a very drivable and good handling car
in historic racing. It's disadvantage is relatively heavy weight for the potential
output of the 1600 motor. A highly developed 1750 might be a different
matter..... The front track is wide relative to the rear, and you can easily change
front springs. We recommend having different rate front springs as a tuning change.
You can find a good set up using the Smithees
Weight Transfer Worksheet. We can supply..
Front coil springs, $A285 per pair
Rear single leaf springs, $A440 to $A550 per pair, depending on style
(Can use urethane front eye bush, or all steel rotating bushes)
Urethane front spring eye bushes, $A48 per pair
All steel rotating front spring eye bushes, $A550 per pair
Front anti-roll bar, including links and fittings (any diameter), $A325
(Welding on the chassis is required.)
Front anti-roll bar with "D" bushes only, $A220
Pedders Sports Ryder front shocks, $220 per pair
QA1 Motorsport shocks, $600 per pair

This car runs our specified front coil springs and Pedders Sports Ryder front shocks.
Unlike most Alpines, the front anti-roll bar is mounted with brackets to the
chassis. We believe the bar mounted to the lower control arms only, does not work
properly. Note new Toyo RA1 Dot tyres. These were run, unbuffed, in the next
race meeting, and the Driver, Stuart Littlemore, achieved a third placing, in wet
conditions.
